The brain-child of one man sparked a 20-year long rich legacy for the MSIT program.
MSIT is an innovative multi-university interdisciplinary post-graduate programme. MSIT program is being offered by “Consortium of Institutions of Higher Learning” (CIHL), formed by the Universities.
In 2004, the Story/Problem Centered Curriculum was introduced and the fourth batch of students were admitted to the MSIT division, International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), College of Engineering, Osmania University (OU), Hyderabad and School of Information Technology (SIT), Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU).

The MSIT Program was founded to plug the rapidly widening gap between mainstream technical education and the rapidly evolving needs of the industry.
Students in the program learn with a project-centric curriculum in an environment akin to a corporate one. This helps our students transition seamlessly from the classroom to their career paths.
Founded in 2001, the MSIT program has evolved and expanded to encompass the latest and greatest foundational education in enviable technologies.

Osmania University joins the growing MSIT family
The first batch of students graduated from the MSIT Program as industry-ready professionals.

JNTU Kakinada joins the MSIT family
The MSIT Program curriculum was updated to include the latest subjects (such as Web 2.0 and mobile app development) as technology and organizational need rapidly evolved across the globe.
JNTU Anantapur joins the MSIT family.
SVU Tirupati joins the MSIT family.
With the advent of AI and it's integration into mainstream technologies globally, the program curriculum was further updated to include subjects like Intelligent systems (AI and deep learning) and Data Science.
First batch of mentors was trained at Carnegie Mellon University and a story/problem-centered curriculum was introduced for the first time.
The second batch of mentors was trained at Carnegie Mellon University. Subsequent batches were trained at CIHL

Consortium of Institutions of Higher Learning (CIHL) is a non-profit educational society formed by national-level universities of repute in Hyderabad, Telangana. The consortium’s esteemed members comprise IIIT Hyderabad, SVU Tirupati, JNTU Hyderabad, JNTU Kakinada and JNTU Anantapur. With a legacy steeped in pushing the boundaries of technical education, CIHL is the formative body behind the MSIT Program, with a vision to make cutting-edge technical education accessible to all and create industry-ready professionals for tomorrow’s workforce needs.
