MSITians are multi-skilled
and have varied interests ranging from graphics including
flash, dream weaver, and exploring open sources to latest
technologies like J2EE, .NET, web services, frameworks
etc. Important areas of research are Software Engineering,
E-Business Technologies, Computer Networks, Bio Informatics…the
list is long!
PCtvt: A Multifunction Information
Appliance with a TV, PVR, Video Phone, IP Phone and
PC which is targeted to greach the peoples homes by
2007 is being developed and tested by the MSIT students
and faculty.
Better solutions for JNTU online exam
are being developed at MSIT by the students and faculty.
Research is being done on changing
the entire Software engineering curriculum for engineering
students to a case study based learning by the faculty
of MSIT under the guidance of Dr. Vasudeva Verma, professor
at IIIT.
In a quest to provide unparalleled training in Bio Informatics,
IIIT started Bio Informatics Research centre (BIRC)
in 2001. Initially students were taken in for PG diploma
into BIRC, later it expanded its wings and started taking
MSIT students in 2002. The success tasted with these
two batches has inspired IIIT to start MTech, MS by
Research and PhD program.
BIRC is equipped with excellent facilities and has collaborations
with premier research organizations like CCMB, CDFD
and ICRISAT. BIRC integrates research with education
through MSIT. The outgoing batch of MSIT have contributed
to the research at BIRC by developing various Bio Informatics
tools.
