The IT Workshop course has been included into the B.Tech curriculum from 2005 batch onwards for all the branches. This course was present previously only in the MSIT curriculum. Analyzing the success of the course at PG level, JNTU authorities proposed this course into the B.Tech curriculum and was unanimously chosen by the Board of Studies.

IT workshop is the vision of Dr. Raj Reddy, founder of MSIT. This was introduced in 2001 in MSIT, with the help of efficient faculty team which included Dr. Ghanta Subba Rao, CIO, Govt of AP. This was very intensive and made the MSIT students very productive in presenting their work. This has brought a significant difference between MSIT student and a normal student.

This course is still being offered in the first mini semester for MSIT students. Based on the performance of the students in IT Workshop course, they would be given an admisison into MSIT program.

The Faculy team from MSIT have been conducting training sessions (Teach the Teachers program) for all engineering colleges at JNTU, kukatpally. The course content is also given to these colleges and course would also be offered for public in the future.
