Projects
- XAlign, a tool developed
to perform sequence alignment for a query sequence
against a database of sequences using a semi-heuristic
approach. The tool has been submitted to ICRISAT-Hyderabad,
India and is currently functional
- BLAST Results analysis for patterns
detection, a Software tool was developed,
which will find the Monte Carlo Simulation using
Blast - search for genomic super signatures
in different genomes available online. The tool
was written in perl, which had automated the
process of generating the sequence to blasting
it towards the NCBI global database and the
generation of the curve to find the signature/pattern
particular for that genome.
- IPSVAC (Integrated platform for sequence
visualization, analysis and comparison),
a sequence analysis toolkit, developed using
PERL Java and BioPerl for the coding part &
Qt for the interface development. The toolkit
contains several sequence analysis modules starting
from Sequence retrieval for a given unique Accession-Id
and including different Alignment techniques,
Phylogenetic tree construction, detection of
motifs and highlighting them graphically, identification
of cleavage sites & restriction enzyme cutting
sites etc and it also contained modules for
visualizing the sequences. IPSVAC has gained
wide acclaims in the OpenHouse2003, a projects
fair conducted at IIIT.
- Tandem Repeat Finder, an
application that helps in finding the tandem
repeats in the DNA sequences specified by the
user with desired tuple sizes. Dr.Jayasree.B
from ICRISAT, Hyderabad is the guide and the
tool has been developed in Java.
- Wrapper Interface, is an
encapsulated application that acts as an interface
for the retrieval of specified sections in the
flat sequence files located at the major bio-databases
that include GenBank, EMBL & DDBJ. I-labs,
Hyderabad is the client of this application
and the tool is being developed using Java and
the FTP API provided by the Netcomponents.
- Penta Peptide Structure Analyzer,
an application that analyses the different PDB
structure files of same protein family and reports
all the 20 amino acid penta-peptide combinations
along with their structure, location and occurrence
in the protein sequence. This application gives
further scope for predicting structure of a
penta-peptide. Dr.Abhijit Mitra has been the
guide for this project and the tool has been
developed using Java.
- Online Quiz Contest, is
a website that hosts programming challenges.
The client for this site is I-Labs and the tool
has been developed using Java Servlets, MS-SQL
Server, HTML and JavaScript
